We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Permanent Laboratory Technician to join our team in Nerang/Skygate. This full-time role offers a unique blend of hands-on field work and precise laboratory testing, crucial for ensuring the quality and compliance of our quarry and concrete materials. You will play a vital role in contributing directly to the integrity of essential construction projects.

This full-time role offers a competitive rate of $32-34/hr + Overtime, along with a Company vehicle and a fuel card provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sampling: Collect representative samples of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products from various points in the quarry and field, adhering to Australian Standards.

  • Laboratory Testing: Perform a comprehensive range of physical tests on samples, including particle size distribution, moisture content, density, and strength tests, using modern lab instrumentation.

  • Field Testing: Conduct on-site testing operations efficiently and safely as required.

  • Data Management & Reporting: Accurately record, analyse, and enter test results into relevant computer software. Generate and communicate reports to supervisors, managers, and clients, highlighting any non-compliant results.


Skills & Experience Required:
Current Manual Driver's Licence.

    • White Card.

    • Current Manual Driver's Licence.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a self-motivated approach.

    • General computer literacy; experience with industry-specific software (e.g., QestLab, QestField) is highly regarded.

    • Previous experience in a materials testing operation, particularly within the civil or building industry.

    • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards, TMR, and NATA requirements.
